Kinetic Scientific Keel Controllers provide the features you need in a small, light weight, low apower, reliable product.  They are the only controllers designed to interface directly to Kinetic Scientific Daggerboard Detectors to prevent keel/board collisions.

Unlike PLC-based designs, our Keel Controllers are easy to tailor to your requirements.  Most necessary adjustments can be made using the supplied PC-based Utility software while commissioning or while sailing.

Daggerboard Detector Interface

Most designers agree that moving daggerboards aft improves performance on all points of sail.  Unfortunately, optimum board positioning often means that the boards are directly in the path of the keel.  Push one wrong button or open the wrong clutch and the result can be a broken board, jammed keel or worse.

An integrated Kinetic Scientific Keel Controller and Daggerboard Detector system is the solution.  By configuring the system with information about the geometry of the boat's keel and boards,  these problems can be prevented.  The Keel Controller stops the keel when canting towards a lowered dagger board and it move the keel out of the way when a board is being lowered towards the keel.

Only the Kinetic Scientific Keel Controller offers this degree of system integration and performance.  That's why it's the system of choice for today's top performing canting keel yachts.

KC60

The KC60 is designed for use with canting keel mechanisms powered only by a DC pump.  It's ideal for IMOCA 60s, IRC canters and similar designs.
